About Our Guest
Lily Qi became the first Chinese American immigrant ever elected to the Maryland General Assembly in 2018. She currently represents Maryland’s District 15 in the House of Delegates. Her election gained national press coverage from NPR and The Washington Post for her successful record of energizing Asian American immigrant voters. Delegate Qi has been named “Legislator of the Year” three times for her leadership in growing industries of the future and supporting local small businesses. Before serving as a legislator, Delegate Qi oversaw economic and workforce development strategies and partnerships in Montgomery County, Maryland. She is an active community leader in recruiting more Asian Americans to participate in the civic and political arenas.
